Tonight we had the privilege of recording a very special chapter of life for Courtney and Matt. They are expecting a baby boy the end of next month! What an exciting time! Baby lets her know when he doesn't like a cold touch or when he hears something that stirs him up. Daddy Matt is everything to them both. It is so obvious how much he adores Courtney and in turn this new baby boy. Little do we know how much this little fellow can hear...but he will know the voices of mama and daddy both...
This makes us smile....
See...I told you Matt adores them!
And just in case you had not made the connection yet...Courtney is Bethany's next older sister! Take a look back just a few days and see how they "match"! Courtney is #3 of 4 girls and Bethany is the baby of 4. And aren't they gorgeous?! Matt and Craig think so and so do we!
We hope you have enjoyed your sneak peak...the rest will be posted in a couple of days. Thank you Bethany for telling Matt and Courtney about us and thank you Matt and Courtney for allowing us to be a part of your lives! We had terrific fun!

Sometimes you find out some interesting things about people you know. I discovered that Anna does roofing work with her dad and as missions projects! Here is just a sampling of Anna at work...Thanks Anna for braving our somewhat steep roof to keep the rain on the OUTSIDE rather than running down the vents to the INSIDE!
We were glad when she finished up and was safely back on the ground! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Johnson for sharing her with us. She is a precious young lady. You have raised her well.

What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Doing one of our most favorite things with some new friends! This little cutie is our new friend Madison and her mama, Mandy. Madison, Amber had said that you were a lot of fun and she was exactly right! We hope this brings a smile to your face. They sure do ours.Sweet lovin' from Mama...
See where Madison gets her beauty? Her mama, Mandy, of course!
Thank you, Girls for allowing us to record a piece of this chapter of life for you. You have left fingerprints on us that are very special. We will have the rest of the pictures from our afternoon together posted within a few days. I'll let you know when they are ready, but hopefully you like the sneak peak!

Courtney, we are looking forward to our time to take pictures of you and your "baby tummy"! We will call you tomorrow...

Bethany & Craig! This is the front of the trolley car on the left. We thought this turned out super cool! You two were so much fun and such good sports. Thanks for playing along to make your pictures an enjoyable and memorable experience.Bethany, here is another one of our favorites! Your sweet spirit shines though your beautiful eyes...and look at that million dollar smile.

Craig, you were such a good sport. Not all of the guys are so willing to bend and contort to come up with fun images. And then....is this not love?!

There are a lot of good images. You both did a great job and we will have them ready to view in a few days. We had a great time and hope that you did as well.

Look at this beautiful young lady. One of my favorite students from Hendrix College. We spent some time downtown Conway yesterday before the rain moved in visiting and having fun. Anna, I knew you were something special and your proved it during our session! Hope you feel pretty, because you are gorgeous!

Today I spent "girl time" with one of my best friends from Missouri, Sonya Young. We shared as moms about wedding plans and pictures. Her oldest was married in December at our summer camp just outside Joplin, MO, so with our own planning going on, she was a wealth of information and insight. Sonya, I enjoyed our time together more than words can say. We can't let our visits be so long between!

What a fun Saturday! We started the morning at Jodie Marie's Bridal shop getting Natalie's wedding dress pinned to be hemmed. Amber, Nikki and Marlo got to share in the fun. Nikki and Marlo's dresses were in and they look stunning as well. The ladies at Jodie Marie's continue to amaze me with their gift to fit the girls with dresses that show off the beautiful young ladies they are. It won't be any time at all until we will be shooting bridals at the capital (and other places) with Natalie.

Then we had the privilege to witness the union of 2 of our favorite young people, Matt and Laurie. What a beautiful ceremony-not a dry eye in the house, including Jim Bob as he performed the ceremony that united the lives of his daughter and her groom. It was obvious that they understood the enormity of their commitment before God. Laurie you made a beautiful bride and Matt, you were such a handsome groom. Take good care of each other, you two!

Not much later, we met with Amy Sheridan and her mom, Jan to welcome them into our family of brides! Amy, you will be so much fun to work with and we look forward to meeting Justin. The excitement that Amy exudes over her wedding is so contagious! She will make a beautiful bride and we are very honored to be able to tell her story for her.

Saturday proved to be a beautiful day for the Hendrix Softball girls to show off a bit! The wind was a bit cool, but the sun was a welcome change to the weather we had been having. Here is some of the fun of the day...

KJ at short...Coach Amy watching her girls...

We hope to get to see more of the Hendrix girls in the coming weeks! You girls rock! I miss you in BodyPump.

We had a celebration this weekend! Birthdays at our house are very special. We don't just celebrate one day, it usually lasts several. This weekend we celebrated another year of life for Ron, my best friend in the entire world. I could not have asked for a more special man to walk through life with me. Happy Birthday to my sweet man!

Daddy and his girls...
Gifts for the birthday boy...Where did February go? We began working on the new website around the first of the month. When we began looking through the images created with clients, it brought back sweet memories. We work with awesome people, another thing for which we are grateful! As the month flew by and the launch of the new site drew near, we could hardly contain our excitement. As we made the transition to the new site and friends began taking a look, we began getting, WOW! Exactly what we wanted, because that is how we feel each time we have the privilege of recording a chapter of life for someone. Such an awesome responsibility, and oh, so much fun!

We also saw the Hendrix Softball girls play on Saturday! Now THAT'S a fun bunch of girls! Those pictures to follow tomorrow.

Welcome Craig and Bethany to our family of brides and grooms! We are so excited about telling your story over the coming months! The day will be here before you can even blink. We look forward to talking to you again soon.

We met with Ro and Anthony yesterday and they too have a spirit of fun about them that would make telling their story a joy!

Today's fun meeting was with Lisa and Keith. Lisa, it is a challenge trying to finish school AND plan a wedding, but from what we could gather, you have things well under control. You are wise to be as ahead of the game as you are. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Your story is as unique as you are and we are excited about the prospect of working with you in the coming months.

We will be partnering with the real estate brokers in our state to help them tell their story each month. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, February 13! Dana, Ron says that you will be great to work with and we are excited about the upcoming months. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person next week.

It was a fun morning this morning helping put together the images of the families at Antioch Baptist Church in Conway as the L.A.D.Y. Life team composes a church directory of pictures, information and favorite recipes! Get your $ ready! They will be offering these Recipe/Directories to those that will want to try all of the "good eats" compiled. If you haven't guessed....baptist women can cook! Those of you that did not get your image taken this morning, the ladies will be ready for you each Sunday morning through the month of February. It only takes a minute, so be ready.

This is one of our favorite "little people" in the whole world. This is Keegan, one of Arkansas Children's Hospital's success stories! We love you Keegan!

AND, this fun face hiding behind me, is our Toya. She is one of the L.A.D.Y. Life team at Antioch as well as the help mate to Antioch's associate pastor. Toya, you do a wonderful job ministering to the ladies of Antioch. Thank you for all of the work that you and your team do! You are loved!

It's been a busy week after returning home from Elevate on Saturday! We've had snow, ice and COLD! Now, I realize that cold is relative, but for AR, it has been COLD!

We are excited to have talked to several brides and made appointments for this week and weekend. Craig and Bethany, you both have such a sweet spirit, that will carry you far in your marriage. We are looking forward to the prospect of working with you in the coming months.

Anthony and Rowena, it sounds like you have things well under control for you upcoming nuptuels and we are excited about the prospect of being able to tell your story in photos! We are looking forward to meeting you again tomorrow.

Lisa and Keith, I know that long distance planning can be very difficult, but is sounds like you are working through it well. I'm glad that we could make arrangements to meet while you will be in town this weekend. Be safe traveling, with the weather challenges that we have had the past few days and we will look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Back home in Conway, mostly unpacked and super charged with excitement over putting our newly gained wisdom into practice.

After we each went our own direction Wednesday from Elevate, Ron and I spent a couple of days at the coast. Steve, we put into practice the technique you showed us on the roof at dusk, Tuesday night...here are a couple of the shots...

It was about the same time of the evening.

We are excited to be meeting with Craig and Bethany on Tuesday evening to discuss their upcoming June wedding.

To those of you who left messages and emails this week, I will be returning those calls and emails within the next couple of days. We look forward to discussing your upcoming events!

Again, Thank you to Joy and Garrett for all of your effort in putting together Elevate. You effort came to beautiful fruition.

I have signed us up on OSP and have read the thread going for our group from this week, but have yet to figure out how to reply or make a post. It keeps denying me access to do so. I'll have to do some research to see what is wrong. We have also signed with DWF, so we will be getting acquainted with those of you that post there as well. Thanks again, Jen for all of your info concerning this forum.

Elevate update-Wednesday
And now we begin.....WOW what a happening 3 days! Where do I begin? In an industry where the competition is tough and the stakes can be very high, there are still people who are willing to mentor those who want to learn! We have had that this week. The knowledge that we gained, the experiences that we enjoyed and the wisdom that was shared was priceless.

Tuesday night we went to the roof of the Lexington Hotel with 2 beautiful models to shoot pictures at dusk finding different and exciting light. I apologize for not posting last night. We had a fun evening together with the other attendees as well as our hosts. We were getting our images ready for peer/mentor review coming up today....a most beneficial experience. We continue to see things we did not see before and are now able to implement them for our most precious brides. One might say, who is the most precious? Well ALL of them of course! A bride is a very special lady, in every sense of the word.

Garrett and Joy Nudd of www.garrettnudd.com did such an excellent job of pulling together just what was needed for all. There were a wide expanse of people at varying levels of business in attendance and each said that they grained a wealth of information and experience. Thank you, Garrett and Joy for all of the hours of preparation and effort you instilled. Garrett's images have been described as "they make you all tingly!" :) I must say, that is a pretty accurate description!

Garrett and Joy were able to pull together people that could give different perspectives from different venues of the business. This made for a portfolio of incredible information. Thank you again and again.

Stephen and Jennifer Bebb of www.tyingtheknot.net, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, were an invaluable wealth of information and insight in all areas. WHAT AN AWESOME COUPLE! They have an immense amount of talent and can showcase it in a way that is most indescribable. They have a talent for sharing that information in a way that is so clear and concise. Thank you Steve and Jen for leaving your fingerprints on our lives that we may make our own fingerprints on the world of photography. Steve and Jen both can see light in such a unique way causing the subject to be at their beauty-best. They were able to help us see light as they do. Thank you is not enough to express our gratitude.

Thank you also to Curt Littlecott and Stephanie Rounds of www.nuvisionsinphotography.com. WOW, how do we describe what we learned from them as well....a man that came from a humble background with an amazing talent for seeing the beauty in a subject and knowing exactly how to exploit that beauty for all that it is worth! Curt and Stephanie hosted our meet and greet on Sunday night in their new, astounding studio. So much texture, interesting light and beautiful images everywhere, was a playground for the senses! Curt, thank you for your mentoring time with us. It was invaluable. We know that you did not have to do that, but gave your time freely and we are most grateful.

Lisa Konecmy, of www.e-eventsdesign.net, a wedding planner of the utmost quality, gave her time and effort to speak to us on the marketing and networking side of the business. Let me tell you...if you want someone with a sweet spirit and a will to get things done correctly and efficiently, making everyone happy in the process, SHE is your lady! Thank you Lisa, you were most helpful and generous. We are very much looking forward to the packet from you. You are a sweetheart! Tell Mark thank you also for his help is connecting us with local fun things and eateries.

That had better be it for tonight....OH, thanks Crystal for your encouragement to come to Orlando, Elevate. We are most glad that we made the investment. Take care of you and that sweet baby boy! :)

Elevate Update-Monday!
It was a beautiful day for photographing beautiful people! Thank you to all of the models and friends that worked with us today. You were such good sports and so cooperative. Downtown Orlando has so many options that the possibilities are endless.

We spent the morning in class learning, discussing and sharing. Then after lunch was the shoot-out that allowed us to show off these beauties! We have had a fantastic time and will be using this additional knowledge for you! We have 2 more days...
with more to share tomorrow....

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Greetings from sunny, warm, beautiful, Orlando, Florida! Can you tell that we are glad to be here? Our heart goes out to those of you who are enduring the ice and snow.... Genuinely...But our heart especially goes out to our Natalie. She has been sick this week and mom and dad have a hard time being away at a time like this. Please be praying for her healing.

Now, on a brighter, more fun note....Garrett and Joy, you are sweet people and we have already learned from you. We are excited about the up coming days and what is in store. Orlando is a fantastic place for creative photographers! We are in downtown Orlando across from Lake Eola and the architecture is awesome! Garrett and Joy, the effort that you have put into this seminar is very evident and we thank you for that.

Check back tomorrow for images from the shoot-out!

Crystal, you were absolutely correct when you said that we would love the Nudds! What great people they are. The genuine care is written all over their face.

Until tomorrow....

Well, today is a full day! This morning we meet with one of our brides from the bridal fair in Little Rock, then we head for Orlando FL for a photo shoot and seminar! We are anticipating a great time working with Garret and Joy Nudd and all of those at the seminar.

Yesterday we met with April, our drawing winner of the free bridal portraits. She has such a sweet spirit and will make a beautiful bride. April, it was so much fun learning about your future plans and world travel. We are very excited about the possibility of working with you and your groom to be!

We spent the day today with many, many beautiful women who were looking for someone to document one of the most important days of their lives! What a special day for us. Each one of you that spent time with us, asking questions and seeing what we have to offer brought a beautifully bright spot to our day. It was quite an honor. We are so looking forward to your wedding day when we will record your memories.

Congratulations to Cheri Hicks, who won a free bridal session, given today as one of the door prizes! Cheri, the look on your face when you came to us with your certificate, was precious. :) You will make a beautiful bride. We are certainly looking forward to working with you.

Congratulations to Crystal Goss, as well with the expectation of a new addition to her family! Crystal, you look just beautiful with your sweet little "baby tummy". Take good care of you both.

We will be drawing from our visitors tomorrow and announcing the winner of a FREE Bridal Session with an 11x14 print! Good luck to each of you!

Thank you to Crystal Thurman, "boss", and her assistant Tabatha, "chief" for all of your hard work in putting together this Bridal Fair. You did an EXCELLENT job! We were so impressed with how smoothly things ran, how easy and convenient it was to unload, then load again and your sweet, friendly faces being there to help with any need. TERRIFIC job ladies! You are to be commended. We are looking forward to all that this year has in store as a result of this weekend.

Lauren's wedding on December 30th went off without a hitch. Lauren was as beautiful as we expected. Thank you Lauren for including us in your special day.

James, you have quite a catch in Lauren!

James' joy when he sees the doors open and his bride coming to meet him at the altar.

Exchanging vows.

First dance...

Cutting the cake...

Lauren and James, we wish you many years of happiness and prosperity! Keep in touch.

Amber and David

Natalie and Dillon are excited to announce their engagement, with vows to be exchanged on June 1, 2007. We are having fun being on the parent side of the camera with this one. :)

As you can see, our family is growing...and no I do not mean with another baby! Our older daughter Natalie will be marrying Dillon on June first. We had so much fun shooting their engagement pictures, then Christmas pictures with all of us. We are finding that as our girls get older, that is a more challenging task. But then, it is great fun when it all comes together.

It is hard to believe that another year is nearly behind us! As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, we want to pray the Lord's richest blessings on each of you. As we reflect on the year, we have so much to be thankful for. Health, family, new friends that have allowed us to photograph them and so much more! As the New Year approaches, we would like to extend our warmest wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year to each of you.

In just over a week, Lauren and James will be joining their lives as one. We are so looking forward to capturing this special day for them.
